FEBRUARY 2010

Spring is just round the corner!
Fed up with the long dreary winter? Why not cheer yourself up by joining us for an evening of music and dancing at our forthcoming Spring Barn Dance!

The evening will start from 7.00pm and supper will be served promptly at 7.30pm. There will be baked potatoes with various fillings and also salads and desserts.

Wine and soft drinks will be available.

Afterwards we will push back the tables and dance to the Electric Lobsters - who will have a caller to get things going.

Look forward to seeing you there!

This is the first of various interesting activities coming up over the next few months. Details of these are given below and we hope you will enjoy taking part in some of them.

Spring Barn Dance
With live music from the Electric Lobsters, Bathford Parish Hall, Saturday 13 March, 7.00 for 7.30pm

Tickets £8 to include supper, £4 children 16 and under.

Tickets from Bathford village shop or by calling 01225 859132. Families welcome.

Visit To Artannes
A group from Bathford will be visiting Artannes to take part in the annual Europe Day celebrations. This year the host town in the Touraine will be Esvres with the main activities centred on 9 May.

Part of the group is travelling independently by car but there is also a group travelling by public transport - train to Southampton, air to La Rochelle and train on to Tours.

Anyone interested is welcome to join in the visit but please note that the cut off date for numbers will be 26 March. For all details contact: John Lees on 859508.

We now have a useful information sheet covering the various transport methods of reaching Artannes.

You can get details from: Kevin Marris on 859353.

French Visit to Bathford in July
Early information is that some 18 - 20 people from Artannes are expected to arrive in Bathford on Thursday 1 July, staying for about 4 nights. We understand that some old and some new faces will be in the party and as usual we will be looking for hosts for our visitors. Anyone wishing to offer accommodation should get in touch with: Julia Masdin on 858042

The programme for this visit is currently in preparation but it will include an Open Gardens Day on 4 July. If you have an interesting garden (and it does not have to be large) or if you know of gardens in Bathford or Kingsdown that we might use, please get in touch with Colin Priston on 743499 - who will be co-ordinating the event.
