I'm sorry that I don't have time to get out a proper Newsletter before going away, so I'm putting out this note to update you on one or two things.

Open Gardens
Sincere thanks to all who helped to make this event successful thus increasing our reserve fund by £375. I have already written to garden owners but the committee particularly asked that I should record thanks to those members who so generously contributed cakes for the event. The quality of the teas was frequently mentioned! Due I'm sure to the quality of the cakes!

Thanks also to those who supported us by just coming along or bringing their friends.

Artannes Visit
As you know this visit is now confirmed for 24 - 28 September. So far I have received 12 names of interested participants. The list is still open but if you would like to take part, please get in touch as soon as possible. As far as we know there is no limit on numbers travelling.

As I am away from 1 August until early September, I have now passed the list to John Lees (Tel: 859508 or e-mail at helen_lees47@yahoo.co.uk) and any additions to the list and all further correspondence should be sent to him.

Please note that he has called a meeting of intending participants for Thursday 5 August at 7.30pm at his house, 13 Church Street, Bathford to discuss travel plans and other details. If you intend to go to Artannes, please go along to this meeting or, if you are unable to attend, please get in touch with John and arrange to be informed of what was decided at the meeting.

AGM
Please put this date in your diary and come along and air your views on the way things are progressing. It will take place at 7.30pm at the Bathford Rugby Club on Monday 8 November 2004. The bar will be open and we will hope to lay on some simple refreshments and skittles afterwards.
