The summer being over, the Twinning Committee has been looking ahead to the programme for next year. Several important activities are in planning and those interested in keeping our contact with Artannes active will no doubt want to keep the dates open in their diaries.

Annual General Meeting
This will take place on Monday 12 November 2007 at 8.00pm in the Avonvale Rugby Club. The meeting is open to all residents of Bathford & Kingsdown. Officers will report on the year's work and elections will take place for Officers and Committee. All of these positions are annually elected so new nominations are now invited. If you wish to nominate someone, please obtain a seconder and give the details in writing to the Secretary, Peter Rideal at 146 high Street, Bathford. Nominations will also be invited from the floor on the night.

The Bar will be open for the meeting.

Social Evening
A Social Evening is being arranged for Saturday 26 January 2008 at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. This will be a good opportunity for everyone to get together over supper and a glass of wine. Further details (including ticket price) to follow.

Visit to Artannes
It is our turn to go to Artannes in 2008 and negotiations are in hand for possible dates in May or September. This will be of the usual long weekend duration and we will get dates to you as soon as they are agreed. We are hoping that we may have them by the time of the AGM.

Youth Twinning Visit
Following the successful trip to Artannes by a group of young people from Bathford this year, we are expecting to receive a reciprocal visit of young people from Artannes in the coming year. The Head Teacher of the Artannes Primary School (Philippe Diard) is proposing to bring the whole of his top class (27 pupils aged 10/11) along with 3 or 4 adults in charge. The date currently being discussed is arriving 3 July 2008 and spending 5 full days here. The Youth Forum Committee - supported by the Twinning Association - is currently working on a programme which will include input from the Bathford Primary School.
